Scott Gladden joined Scout in 2017 and serves as Vice President & General Counsel, responsible for the land and legal departments at Scout.
Scott received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University, his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Energy from Texas Christian University. He has over 20 years of industry experience in a variety of management roles, spending the early part of his career representing oil and gas firms in contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financing. He joined Merit Energy in 2002 and became General Counsel in 2007. He later served as Executive Vice President at Principle Petroleum, funded by Tudor Pickering and Holt, focused on acquisitions and operations in Wyoming’s Big Horn Basin. He then served as President of Tana Exploration, a private upstream production company with operations in Texas and Louisiana.
Scott is board certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Scott also taught two courses at the Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business Professional Land Management Program, Critical Concepts in Oil & Gas Law and Negotiating and Drafting Oil and Gas Leases.
