Jon Piot is co-founder, General Partner and member of the investment committee at Scout. He is responsible for finance, accounting, treasury, risk, legal, land, audit, human resources and compliance.
Jon earned a Bachelor of Science from the Southern Methodist University School of Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Jon has previously worked for Arthur Andersen and Booz-Allen & Hamilton. In 1998, Jon co-founded Impact Innovations Group and served as CEO.
Jon led the sale of Impact Innovations Group in three stages in 2004, 2005 and 2007. In 2005, a Charlesbank Capital Partners portfolio company acquired Impact Innovations Group. Jon led the rebranding of the combined company as Technisource and led the sale to Spherion in 2007.
He is co-author of The Executives Guide to Information Technology, The Professional Services Firm Bible, and Outperform: Inside the Investment Strategy of Billion Dollar Endowments. Jon served as an Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ursuline Academy of Dallas and on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Wildcat Committee and recently served as a Trustee of the Jesuit Dallas Foundation, where he also chaired the Investment Committee. He is a member of the ADAM Energy Forum and YPO Gold.
